The Asian golden cat is heavily built. It has a head-body length of 26 to 41 in, with a tail 16 to 22 in long, and is 22 in tall at the shoulder. The weight ranges from 20 to 35 lb.

The black-footed cat is one of the smallest wild cats in the world. Adult males weigh 4 to 5 lb. Adult females weigh 3 to 4lb. Large males of up to 215 lb have been known to exists in South Africa; and the females from the Somalia only average 51 to 60lbs.

In the tropics, leopard cats weigh 1 to 9lbs, having head-body lengths of 15 to 26in, with 7 to 12in tails. In northern China and Siberia, they weigh up to16lbs, and have head-body lengths of up to 30in; generally, they put on weight before winter and become thinner until spring. Shoulder height is 11 to 16in.

The size of adult lions varies averaging around 175 to 280lbs in males and females. Their head to body lengths range from 60 to 80in, with tail lengths of 20 to 24in. The males are typically weight more than the females and grow a large, heavy mane around the head and down a bit of their back, stopping generally at their shoulder blades.

The marbled cat is similar in size to a domestic cat, with a more thickly furred tail, showing adaptation to its lifestyle, where the tail is used as a counterbalance. Marbled cats range from 18 to 24in in head-body length, with a tail length of 9 to 18in. Weights vary between 4 and 11lbs. The coat is thick and soft, and varies in background color from dark grey-brown through yellowish grey to red-brown. In addition to its long tail, the marbled cat can also be distinguished by its large feet.

The margay is very similar to the ocelot in appearance, although the head is a little shorter, the eyes larger, and the tail and legs longer. It weighs from 6 to 9lbs, with a body length of 19 to 31in, and a tail length of 13 to 20in. Unlike most other mammals, the female possesses only two teats.

The ocelot ranges from 27 to 39in in length, plus a 10 to 18in tail. They typically weigh 18 to 40lbs. It has sleek, smooth fur, rounded ears and relatively large front paws. While similar in appearance to the oncilla and margay, which inhabit the same region, the ocelot is larger than both of them and unlike the margay has the normal number of teats, being six.

The oncilla resembles the margay and the ocelot but it is smaller, with a slender build and narrower muzzle. It grows 15 to 23in long, plus a 8 to 17in tail. While this is somewhat longer than the average domestic cat, oncilla is generally lighter, weighing 3 to 7lbs.

The Pallas's cat is about the size of a domestic cat, its body is 18 to 26in long and its tail is 8 to 12in long. It weighs 6 to 10lbs. The combination of its stocky posture and long, dense fur makes it appear stout and plush. Its fur is light with dark vertical bars on the torso and forelegs.

The rusty-spotted cat rivals the black-footed cat as the world's smallest wild cat. It is 14 to 19in in length, with a 6 to 12 tail. It weighs only 2 to 4lbs. The short fur is grey over most of the body, with rusty spots over the back and flanks, while the underbelly is white with large dark spots. The darker colored tail is thick and about half the length of the body.

The sand cat is a small, stocky cat with short legs and a relatively long tail. The fur is of a pale sandy color. Markings vary between individuals. There are blackish bars on the limbs, and the tail has a black tip with two or three dark rings alternating with buff bands. Its head and body length ranges 15 to 20in with a 9 to 12i  long tail. It weighs from 3 to 7lb. The undersides of the paws are protected from extreme temperatures by a thick covering of fur.

The serval is a medium-sized cat, measuring 23 to 36in in head-body length, with an 8 to 17in tail. They have a shoulder height of 21 to 26in, part if this being due to the fact that they have exceptionally long slender legs. Weight ranges from 15 to 26lbs in females, and from 20 to 40lb in males. Their markings resemble that of something Similar to the ocelot or margay.

Snow leopards generally weigh between 60 and 121lbs, with an occasional large male reaching 165pbs and small females under 55lbs. They have a relatively short body, measuring in length from the head to the base of the tail 30 to 50in. However, the tail is quite long, 31 to 39in. They are stocky and short-legged felines, standing 20 to 24 in at the shoulder.

Tigers are the most variable in size, The Bengal and Siberian subspecies are the tallest and thus considered the largest living felids. Males vary in total length from 98 to 154in and weigh between 198 to 415lbs. Females vary in total length from 79 to 108in, weighing 143 to 368lbs. In either sex, the tail represents about 24 to 43 in of the total length.
